Frederick A. Brooks died at his home 100 Commerce St. yesterday morning at 9 o'clock of heart disease. Mr. Brooks was born in Athens, Greene Co., NY, April 4, 1838. He was brought up in that town and when a young man moved to Middletown this state. In 1862, he married Miss Mary L. Geary* of that place and soon after moved to this city. For many years he was employed as engineer at the Hartford Water Works and for the past ten years he had been employed as watchman and fireman for the Hartford Coal Company, holding the latter position at the time of his death. He leaves besides his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Curtin (Amelia) and Mrs. Drusilla Duggan, both of this city. Funeral arrangements have not been made.

*In the 1910 Census of Hartford, CT, Mary (wife of Frederick) was living with her daughter Amelia Curtin and family. Mary is listed as a nurse for a private family, 64 years old (born abt. 1846) and her parents were born in Ireland.
