The funeral for James Monroe Anderton, 88, Hatton, will be at 2 p.m. today at Providence Baptist Church with Neil Carter and Elmer Fowler officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery, Elliott Funeral Home, Moulton, directing.
The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service.
He died Tuesday night at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, Florence.
He owned a store in Hatton for over 50 years and was a deacon of Providence Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Lottie Posey, Moulton, Mrs. Jeanette Oliver, Muscle Shoals, Mrs. Christine Lovett, Mrs. Jean Wilbuck, both of Florence; half brothers, Arlow Anderton, Town Creek, Cleba Anderton, Decatur.
Bearers will be Posey Thompson, Naylon Posey, Terell Lovett, Lamar Oliver, Dee O'Steen, Lewis Anderton and Wayne Anderton. Honorary bearers will be deacons of Providence Baptist Church.
