Mrs. E. L. Lucky passed away at her home five miles east of Pelham on Tuesday, 23 May 1933, at the noon hour, after an illness of several days. Many relatives and friends throughout the county were grieved to learn of the death of this good woman. Funeral services were held Wednesday, 24 May 1933, morning at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Hill Church conducted by Rev S. O. Thomas of Cotton, and Rev C. C. Kiser of Pelham.

Mrs. Lucky is survived by her husband, Mr. E. L. Lucky, one daughter, Miss Cleopas, eighteen years of age, and a thirteen year old son, Travis. Three sisters also survive her, Mrs. E. Lawson of Camilla; Mrs. Tim Barnes of Sale City; and Mrs. Willie Rowan of Chattahoochee, Fla., and two brothers, Carl Joiner of Chattahoochee, Fla., and Cosby Joiner of Cairo. Mrs. Lucky was 38 years old. She was formerly Miss L. M. Joiner and was reared at the family home place east of Camilla. She had been an earnest Christian since early in life when she united with the Baptist church, of which she was a faithful and consistent member. She was married to Mr. Lucky in 1914. Relatives and numerous friends mourn the death of Mrs. Lucky and extend sympathy to the bereaved family.
