Andrew Britton was a machinist when he and Elsie were married on March 19 1908. In 1910 he began to farm and worked at a cotton gin at Statesville, VA. He invented a cotton planter, and went to Washington D.C. patent office
and had it registered, but before he could finish the deal - someone else sold their pattern.
Together they had 5 children Hollis Ruston Britton, Myrtle Ledonia Britton, Vivian Ocie Britton, Everette Atron Britton and Junis Woodward Britton
