Ada Ruth Snyder, 72, a resident of Wenatchee for the past 60 years, died Sunday, July 19, 1998, at Central Washington Hospital.
She was born Nov. 3, 1925, to Fred and Harriet (Titman) Gertsch in Chicago, Ill., and moved as a young child with her parents to Arkansas, Montana and Washington where she received her education. In 1938 she moved to Wenatchee and worked for Cedergreens.
On May 8, 1943, she married Robert B. Snyder in Monitor and they made their home in Wenatchee. Ruth packed apples for many years in local warehouses and retired in 1970.
Mrs. Snyder was a former 4-H leader and was active for many years in the Big W CB Radio Club.
Survivors include her husband, Robert, at home; a son, Robert D. Snyder and his wife, Margaret, of Seabeck; a daughter, Linda K. Harwood of Plain; eight brothers, Robert of Newport, Carl of Kansas, John of Port Orchard, Joseph of Davenport, Raymond of Yakima, Howard of Hermiston, Ore., Clifford of Pasco and Donald of Davenport; two sisters, Bernice Riehly of Cheney and Mary Lou Dey of Gresham, Ore.; and two granddaughters, Lora Darrah and her husband, Randy, and Christine Schiele and her husband, Robert, both of Silverdale. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Richard and Thomas; and a sister, Shirley Ramm.
At her request there will be no services, however, memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 2205, Wenatchee, Wash. 98807-2205. Private family inurnment services will follow at a later date.
American Burial and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
