WILL OF JOHN SNIDER OF PROVIDENCE TOWNSHIP - JUNE 17, 1793
In the name of God Amen, I John Snider of Providence Township, Bedford County and State of Pennsylvania Yeoman being very sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God, calling unto mind the mortality of my body, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following: I recommend my Soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the descretion of my Executor and as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life; I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form:
First; I order and ordain that all my lawful debts and contracts shall be paid - Second ; I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife the third of all my Estate ___________________________________________________________
is paid_______________ and my wife is at liberty to take any part of the house and furniture at the appraisement to the amount of the whole or part of the third of my Estate and the remainder if any is not to be given that it can be collected by the Executor. Also I give to my beloved children David; Catherine; Jacob; Abraham and John an equal share of the remaining part of my Estate. No one to receive more than another to be paid to each when they come of age the children is to have proper education so as to reed and rite well, to be paid out of each ones share of th Estate - I further order and allow that my effects shall be appraised and _______ at any time most convenient at the discretion of my Executor and if it is found that the whole of my Estate is sufficient to purchase the land I live on it shall be bought and put to the use of my beloved wife and children to live on it at the descretion of the Executor. If not sufficient the division of my Estate is as above. My boys _______ David, Jacob, Abraham and John may be bound out at the order of the Execotor at such time and such trade as they may think fit. It is solely left at their descretion wheather they shall be bound out or not. I likewise constitute make and ordain Jacob Snider and John Hendricks of the township and state aforesaid they to be Executors of this my Last Will and Testament. I do hereby utterly disallow and revoke all former Testaments, wills, legacies and Executors notifying and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament; In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventeenth day of June in the Year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety three.

Before me David Espy Esquire Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Sellers of Administration in and for the County of Bedford in the State of Pennsylvania came the above named Baltser Hess, Jacob Fletcher and Jacob Studebaker the subscribing witnesses to the aforesaid instrument in writing and on their oaths and affirmation respectively taken before me according to law do depose, swear and affirm that they were personally present and heard and saw the above named John Snider sign, seal, publish and declare the afore going Instrument in writing as his Last Will and Testament that at the time of doing the said John was of sound and disposing mind and memory according to the best of these deponents knowledge and belie
