HARRY LEE McDONALD
Harry lee McDonald, son of William and Lesta McDonald, was born August 22, 1914, in Pleasant township, Lucas county, Iowa, and departed this life at his home in that vicinity on September 22, 1935, at the age of 21 years and 1 month.
He was married on May 18, 1935, to Leila Duckworth, who is left to mourn her loss. He also leaves in bereavement his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McDonald, and two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Chas. Conner of Lacona, Everett McDonald of Purdy, and Asa and Geneva McDonald, at home, and other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Coal Glen church on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. Robt. Bingaman, and burial was in the Coal Glen cemetery.
Relatives who came from a distance for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Zinn, Mr. and Mrs. Odie Umbenhower, Will Umbenhower, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Mingles, Mrs. Ollie Peterson, all of Chariton; Mr. and Mrs. Morris Scott, of Allerton; Mr. and Mrs. Tony Juris and daughter and Mrs. Albert Baylor of Chicago, Ill; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. McDonald and children, Mr. and Mrs. George Duckworth and children, of Russell; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Conner and son of near Lacona; Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Umbenhower and daughter and Mrs. Willie Harger, of Newton; Mr. and Mrs. Francis McDonald of Williamson; Mrs. Minnie Duckworth, Mrs. Fern Gearhart, Mrs. Inez Shuffer and Mrs. Emma Dunning, of Des Moines.
