Sullivan, Indiana - April 10, 1936 Houston Barnes of Dugger died at his home there Thursday morning. Mr. Barnes had been in failing health for some time, but had been seriously ill but a few days. Mrs. Barnes preceded him in death last August.
Surviving are three sons, George of Sullivan, Otis of near Dugger and John of Akron, Ohio, and two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Braden, Linton and Mrs. Lizzie Gadberry Jasonville. Eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Hickory Church with the Rev. J.R. Clark officiating. Burial will be made in Hickory Cemetery. - Saturday, April 11, 1936 - Terre Haute Star - Page 13
Linton, Ind., April 11 - Rites were conducted today at Dugger for Houston Barnes, 79 year old retired Dugger farmer. His death Thursday followed a short illness.
