The Manti Messenger, Friday 20 June 1913:
Utah State News
Brigham Ballantyne, a business man of Ogden, was accidentally shot and killed while hunting rabbits near Snowville, Box Elder county. A companion, Charles Field, tripped and fell his gun being discharged, the contents striking Ballantyne full in the face, death being instant.

The Manti Messenger, Friday 20 June 1913:
Killed While Hunting
Ogden – Struck in the face by the full charge of a shotgun accidentally discharged, Brigham Ballantyne, manager of the Ogden Plumbing & Heating company, was instantly killed while on a hunting trip near Snowville, Box Elder county, Saturday. A companion tripped and fell the gun being discharged full in the face.

His death certificate says he was accidentally shot by M.C. Woods of Ogden. He was divorced and was a Plumber. Age 41.
