EDWARD W. ALVEY, a salesman for the Kentucky Fire Insurance Service, died at 10:40 a.m. Saturday at his home, 1102 Cherokee Road. He was 55 and a native of Louisville. Survivors are his wife, the former Esther Hoefler; two sons, Pvt. Robert J. Alvey, Fort Sill, Okla., and Thomas A. Alvey; two daughters, Mrs. Phillip Spangler, and Miss Joyce Alvey; a brother, James A. Alvey, Cleveland; a sister, Mrs. Mary Ford, and five grandchildren. The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Bosse Funeral Home, Barret and Ellison and at 9 a.m. at St James Church. Burial will be in St Louis Cemetery.
