William Thomas Taylor, of north of Anchor for many years, who was prominent as a farmer and stock feeder, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday at Mennonite hospital, Bloomington. He was 79 years old.
Born in Devonshire, England, Dec.30, 1855, son of Richard and Elizabeth Taylor, eldest of six children, he came with his mother to the United States at the age of 16. His father died several years earlier.
The family settled in Illinois where Mr. Taylor worked as a farmer. He had lived in the same home north of Anchor for the last 43 years. He married Anna Marie Austin in February, 1882 and seven children were born to the union. Clarence Walter died at an early age. Surviving are the following: Rollie R. of Anchor; Bert H. of Fairbury; Mrs. Elizabeth D. Seifert and Mrs. Ethel L. Thompson of Cropsey; Frank W. of Anchor and Mrs. Minnie M. Sticklin of Colfax. The mother died in 1898.
Mr. Taylor married Eva J. Austin of Anchor in December, 1901 and to them also seven children were born. They are Mrs. Cleo C. Blundy of Bloomington, Floyd T. and Mrs. Edith M. Ricks and Mrs. Hazel I. Hendrichsen of Anchor; William A., Lois and Louise at home. There are 32 grandchildren.
The body was removed to the John A. Beck company chapel, Bloomington. The Pantagraph - Feb. 10. 1935
