Mr. Christma, whose maiden name was Margaret Wirtz, was a native of Wisconsin, and was born Jan. 5, 1846 (sic). She was united in marriage with Jacob Christman, May 3, 1885. Of this union the following six children were born: (Margaret) Mrs. Otto Estel, Froada; John, on the home farm; (Anna) Mrs. Charles Styrbicki, Minneapolis; (Ersula) Mrs. Frank Klinger, Glenwood; (Lucy) Mrs. Frank Eral, Hudson; (Ellen) Mrs. Lawrence Botzet, Belle River.
Mr. and Mrs. Christman came to Pope county and settled on a farm in 1891, which was their home until 1923, when they moved to Forada, which has since been their home.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the family home in Forada, and at St. Mary's Catholic church in this city, Fr. Wm. A. Renner officiating. Interment was made at St. Mary's cemetery. The pallbearers were Wm. Deluhery, Wm. Gosobud, Ed Holland, Mike Gaffaney, Peter Gaffaney, John Gaffaney.
