Laura Kathleen (Allegre) Selleck, a Wenatchee resident since 1945, died April 21, 2001.
She was born July 22, 1923 to Elbert C. and Myrtle E. (Zachary) Allegre in Greybull, WY. She moved with her family to Hood River, OR in 1925. She attended Odell Grade School and Odell High School.
She spent one year at Oregon State College and when W.W. II started in 1941, she moved to Los Angeles, CA for three years. She was a part-time model and also worked for Barker Bros. Dept. Store.
She married Willard P. Selleck of Wenatchee on Aug. 2, 1945.
Kathleen was a volunteer for the Red Cross blood bank, a member of Children's Orthopedic I and H. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church where she served two terms on the Vestery, was President of St. Nicholas Guild and St. Luke's Guild. She was appointed Directress of the Altar Guild in 1971 and served until her death. She was a volunteer at Central Washington Hospital, the Guild House and a member of the Mid-Columbia Heritage Society.
In 1976, Kathleen went to work at Central Washington Hospital where she was a Central Service Technician until 1991 when she retired.
Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth K. Selleck of Seattle; a son, Willard P. Selleck of Everson; a grandson, Willard S. Selleck; a granddaughter, Sophia X. Selleck; and one sister, Deloris M. Lehmann of Portland, OR.
Burial Services will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke's Altar Guild or Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle.
