Mary A. Moore was a daughter of Albert Gallatin Moore, a farmer, (1830-1912), and Nancy Ann (Goal) Moore (1834-1913). She was born in Berryville, Correll Co., Missouri, on Nov 17, 1864. By 1880, the family had relocated to Prairie, Carroll Co., Arkansas. Mary was first married William Wesley Tillery, with whom she had a son, Charles Oscar Tillery, b 1885. Following the birth of their son, her husband, William (also known as Jack), died. Mary was a widow in her 20's. But she had met Hezekiah Amrine, a native of Illinois, who asked for her hand in marriage and promised to care for her son. She accepted Hezekiah's proposal and they married on Jun 7, 1891 in Carroll County, Arkansas; Hezekiah also adopted her son, keeping his promise. They then headed Westward with her parents, the Moores, to Kansas. When the 1900 U S Census was conducted on June 11, 1900 at Ionia, Jewell Co., Kansas, Hezekiah and Mary had been blessed with five children: Milton, b. Apr 1892, Laura Bell, b. July 1893, Millard, b. Nov 1894, Nathan, b. Apr 1896, and Rollo, b. July 1899. All of the children except Milton, who had been born in Arkansas, had been born in Jewell County, Kansas, where Hezekiah was farming the land. His brother, John, who was married to Rachel and had a son named Willie, lived close by, also farming the land. The family decided to relocate to Colorado and Hezekiah had purchased a farm in Vilas, Baca County, Colorado after 1906 and before the 1910 census was taken, on Apr 27, 1910. Four more children had been added to their family by 1910, all sons: Ora Vernon, b. Apr 1901, Alva, b. Aug 1902, Herman Eugene, b. July 1905, and Elden, b. 1906. All of the boys had been born in Kansas. Charlie had moved out by 1910, but they still had a full house with 8 sons and one daughter. They continued to live on their farm in Vilas through Feb 3rd, 1920, when the next census was taken. Laura had married Harvey C. Fowler and set up a home with him. Millard was also no longer in the home. Hezekiah was now a stock farmer and Milton had taken over the general farming. Hezekiah and Mary Ann made a major move to Maltby, Snohomish County, Washington, where they, again, purchased a farm. When the 1930 Census was taken on Apr 7th, their granddaughter, Loeta June, age 4, was living with them and her parents lived 2 doors down. Elden was clearing land so he and Velma could farm their land. Their daughter (Loeta) was staying with her grandparents during that time. Just six months later, on Oct 14th, 1930, Mary Ann passed from this life at the age of 65 yrs. She was buried at the Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery, in Snohomish, Snohomish County, Washington. Hezekiah apparently then sold their farm, for he moved to Maltby - Woodinville Road, at Maltby in Snohomish County, where he lived in a rental alone from at least 1935, according to the 1940 Census taken on April 29th, 1940. Hezekiah would pass away on Sept 16th, 1942 at the age of 74 yrs. and would be buried beside his beloved wife at the GAR Cemetery where they share a headstone and Rest at Peace forever.
