She was a favorite aunt to many of her nieces and nephews, who enjoyed listening to her tell stories about her childhood, especially the funny stories that included her brothers and sisters. Aunt Bethel had a remarkable memory of family history and she loved to share it with those that asked.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ferguson in 1981; her sisters, Annie Smithson Blair, and Ora Smithson Harrell; her brothers, Jack Smithson, Greene Smithson and Omage Smithson.
She is survived by her one brother, Homer Smithson of Springdale, Arkansas and a host of nieces and nephews and her many friends of Searcy County.
Visitation will be from 6—8 P.M. Tuesday at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas.
Services will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas with Jackie and Richard Smithson officiating.
Burial will be in the Silver Hill Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas.
