TRINKALA ANNA (POPIVCHAK)
On March 19, 2008, age 100, at Samaritan Hospital, Troy, NY, after a short illness. She was born in Islin, PA on December 13, 1907. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (Chanas) Popivchak. Anna was a part of a family of nine children: Charles, George, John, Michael, Pete, Steve Popivchak, Jean Missonak and Mary Steranko. Anna worked at the Childs' Restaurant in Pittsburgh for approximately ten years starting in 1942. From 1952 - 1956 she worked at the Law and Finance Restaurant and from 1956 - 1989 she worked at the Hilton Hotel Restaurant in downtown Pittsburgh. While at service at the Hilton Hotel she received several service awards for outstanding waitress. She retired at the age of 82. Anna lived at home with her daughter Eileen June Trinkala, in Carnegie until 2002. Since January 2003, Anna resided at the Eddy-Ford Nursing Home in Cohoes, NY. On December 13, 2007, Anna celebrated her 100th Birthday. We wish to thank the doctors, nurses and staff for the wonderful care they gave her. We would like to thank the Samaritan Hospital and Resselaer Hospice for Anna's care. We, especially, would like to thank Sue Bryant, Anna's friend and caretaker for the loving care Sue gave to Anna during her many visits through the years. She was married to Michael Trinkala for 59 years until his death in February of 1985. Anna is survived by a son Michael J. Trinkala and daughter-in-law Dianne of Troy, NY; a daughter Eileen J. Trinkala; brother, John Popivchak and wife Helen of Scott; two grandchildren: Nadia A. Trinkala of Cohoes, NY and Michael D. Trinkala and wife Julie of Sunnyvale, CA and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at the BAGNATO FUNERAL HOME, 50 Jefferson St., Carnegie, on Tuesday, March 25, 2008. Relatives and friends are invited to attend 1-2 pm with a Service at 2 pm.
