Saturday, 27 Oct 1928, a child witnessed Norman Arment drink something from a bottle and fall down into the street in front of her home at Douthat, Ottawa County, Oklahoma. The young girl went and told her father, who found that Norman was dead. Norman's body was taken to the Todd Funeral Home, Picher, Oklahoma. An investigation of the death was conducted. It was determined that Norman had ended his life by swallowing poisoning.

Norman had moved from Baxter Springs, Kansas, to the Dew Drop Inn at Douthat about a week earlier. He had been employed most recently at the Brewster mine, but had been unable to work for some time due to a a foot injury.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, October 30th, at the First Christian Church in Carl Junction, Missouri. His remains were interred in the Weaver Cemetery.

He was survived by a sister, Mrs. Merle Vierolf of Carl Junction, MO; and four brothers, Carl R., John and Jesse L. Arment, all of Carl Junction, and Randall Lee Arment, who resided in Idaho.
