Henry Daymon was a genuinely nice man. He became the second husband of Elnora (Pierce) Harris, it being his first marriage at the late age of 43. He was a very good and generous husband to Elnora who had been in an abusive first marriage. He also became a father figure to her four mostly grown children. His marriage to Elnora was a happy one, but ended all too briefly, after 9 years, because of her premature death from breast cancer. After Elnora's death, Henry continued to play an important and active role in the lives of his step-children.

After four years of being a widower, Henry remarried to Florence Bonsel, a redhead. Florence desperately wanted to have a child with Henry. She had a couple of false pregnancies. She bought baby clothes and laid them out on the bed in preparation for having a baby. No child was ever forthcoming. Consequently, Henry died childless. Florence later remarried, but never had any children of her own either.
