Lewis August Fowler was born April 29, 1857 in Minonk, Lee County, Illinois and died September 28, 1915 in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri. He was the son of Lewis Fowler and Esther Holcomb Fowler. He married Henrietta "Hattie" Brill in December 1878 in Lamoni, Decatur, Iowa. To this union eight children were born.
Lewis A. moved withhis parents in 1875 from Amboy, Lee County, Illinois to Lamoni, Decatur, Iowa, then in 1897 moved his family to St. Joseph, Buchanon County, Missouri and finally to Kansas City, Missouri in 1904.

At the time of his sudden death, he was an Elder in the RLDS Church and was President of the Fourth Kansas City Branch at 43 & Garfield.

I have been thinking it might be of some interest to some of the Saints in Lamoni to know what we are doing in Kansas City, Missouri. Brother Bradley and Goold (his brother's-in-law) and myself and family, with other Saints, have organized a Sunday-School at 38th & Woodland Avenue, called the Ivanhoe Mission Sunday School.
