Jerome married Frances Catherine Fuqua, daughter of Samuel Fuqua and Nancy Martha Wells on August 7, 1852 in Gallatin Co, IL

Jerome Alvey, age ninety-two, one of the oldest and best known citizens of the county, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs William Reynolds between Knottsville and Whitesville, Monday morning (3/15/1920) of Bright's disease Mr Alvey was born in Marion Co, KY but has lived in this Co the greater part of his life Until two years ago he lived in the Moseleyville neighborhood He is survived by fourteen children and eighty-four grandchildren. His children are Willis, John, Perry, Richard Smith, George and Al Alvey, Mrs R C Carden, Mrs Liza Reynolds, Mrs Rennie Gill, Mrs Mary Burdett and Mrs Alvertie Brackett. The body was brought to Owensboro last night and will be taken this morning to Mt Zion for burial at 11 O'clock in the church cemetery
