Mary was born in Georgia to Andrew Jackson Westmoreland and Melissa Ward. Mary married Henry L. Hirst (b. 12 Apr. 1838 in Illnois d. 31 March 1886 Nevada County, AR). The couple had seven children: Thomas N (1866-1880), James M. (1868-1922), Martha E.(1869-1935 & married Westmoreland),William H.(d. 1900), Edwin A. (1872-1930), Cynthia M. (b. 1874) and John A. (1876-1930). Mary's residence in Haskell County was Sagerton, TX RFD1.

(Spl) Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hurst, 92, of Sagerton, died Thursday morning at the home of herr daughter, Mrs. Henry Dominy, near Sagerton. She had been ill of pneumonia 14 days.
Funeral will be conducted at the Sagerton Baptist church Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Mr. Mosley, Abilene Baptist pastor, in charge. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery near Sagerton under direction of Kinney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hurst was born in Georgia April 6, 1847. She had been a Baptist church member since childhood. She came to Haskell county in 1930 from Beeville. Her husband died in Arkansas 52 years ago.
Survivors are the daughter in Sagerton, a son, Sam of Beeville,a stepson, Ed Hurst of Gorman, a sister, brother, 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
