He was a native of Washington County and a son of the late Herbert and Allene Perkins Blevins. He was self employed in the produce business and enjoyed talking with and becoming friends with his many customers.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, D.F. Blevins.
O.J. is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Griggs Blevins; one sister and brother-in-law, Zeola and Mike Cole of Elizabethton; two nieces, Lori and Lisa; one nephew, David Blevins; one half brother, Ballard Blevins of Kingsport; two step-sons, Eric Grindstaff of Jonesboro and Todd Grindstaff of Gray; one great niece and great nephew, Casey and Caleb; two grandsons, Michael and Aaron Grindstaff.
It was O.J.'s wishes to be cremated and a private family ceremony to be held at a later date.
