Charles E. Damrel, 85, formerly of Lee County, husband of Katherine (Breeding) Damrel, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006. He was born April 28, 1920, in Ida May, KY, to the late Oscar and Bertie (Burns) Damrel. He was a retired employee of the Wiser Oil Company in Clay County, KY; a US Army veteran, having served in WWII, and a member of the Oneida Baptist Church and the Ida May Bible Church.

Along with his wife, of 64 years, he will be missed by one son, Michael (Ida) Damrel of Shelbyville, KY; two daughters, Carol Boscheinen of Lexington, KY, and Linda Swafford of Ft. Meyers, FL; a former son-in-law, Fred Boscheinen of Lexington, KY; one sister, Emma Morgan of FL; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Charles Damrel.

Funeral services at the Booneville Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry States officiating. Burial in the South Irvine Cemetery, Irvine, KY, with the Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
