She married (1) George Hiram Wilson September 25, 1834 in Marlborough, Connecticut, (2) Henry L. Leffingwell, May 13, 1855 in Marlborough, Connecticut, (3) Henry Weldon/Welden, January 2, 1858, in Hartford, Connecticut and (4) Alvin M. Phelps, July 14, 1870 in Hartford, Connecticut.
The record of the first marriage records her surname as Minor but her husband's sister, Adaline Wilson married Joseph H. Minor on the same date. There was likely a clerical error in the recording as the death records of two of her children state that her surname was Bramble. Her daughter Caroline L. "Carrie" (Wilson) Annis completed the death certificate and stated that Clarissa's father was Silas Bramble. All children were from her first marriage.
She was divorced from George Hiram Wilson by 1854 and Henry Leffingwell apparently died before her 1858 marriage to Henry Weldon/Welden. George H. Wilson and Henry Weldon were both captured and sent to the infamous P.O.W. camp, Andersonville in Georgia. Henry died there in 1864 and George H. Wilson died at the Florence Stockade in South Carolina in 1865.
Clarissa Bramble began understating her age, beginning with her 2nd marriage and each husband was significantly younger.
She was married to Alvin M. Phelps for more than 30 years when she died at the age of 91.
