LAST RITES OVER REMAINS OF LATE CHARLES RAMSEY.--
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for the late Charles Ramsey, whose death occurred at an early hour Wednesday morning. Mr. Ramsey was born November 9, 1833, at Rockville, Indiana. His parents went there as pioneers from Wytheville, Virginia. At an early age he went with his parents to Brunswick, Illinois, then in 1854 he went as a pioneer to central Texas and settled at Milford, where he engaged in farming. He is the last of a family of eleven children to die, all of whom went to central Texas when he did. Mr. Ramsey spent his life in Milford until ten years ago, when he came to Ashland.
He is survived by a number of grandchildren and nephews and nieces, most of whom live in Texas. He has four sons and one daughter in Texas, one son in Omaha, Nebraska, two daughters in Ashland, one of whom, Mrs. Ollie Page, arrived the day of his death, and Miss Amy Ramsey, who made her home here with him, together with his nephew, Tom Hudson.
Mr. Ramsey had roamed the hills about Ashland many summers and keenly enjoyed the beauty in all wild life. The day before his death he walked out in the yard and pointed out the trees and shrubs he loved to his daughter, who had arrived on that day for a visit. He died peacefully, as one who falls softly asleep.
