Pauline Merrill Enoch, 98, of Paris died Monday, June 26, 2017, at Paris Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today and continue after 9 a.m. Wednesday at McEvoy Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Bobby Campbell of Central Point Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will follow at Walker Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers.

She was born May 10, 1919, in Henry County to the late John Frank and Effie Victoria Hart Merrill. She was married on Jan. 6, 1935, to John Otis Enoch, who preceded her in death on May 25, 1989.

Enoch was a longtime member of Central Point Baptist Church and a homemaker. She worked at Salant and Salant, formerly of Paris, until its closing, and she enjoyed gardening and cooking, especially for her grandchildren.

According to her family, she loved to laugh, pull pranks and to share her stories and tell tall tales from days past.

Survivors include four daughters: Margaret Dunlap of Buchanan, Judy (Jake) Wade of Paris and twins Cookie Collins of Palmersville and Diane E. Cole of Montgomery, Ala.;

Seven grandchildren: James Austin (Connie) and Amanda Louise Cole, Teddy D. (Opal) Wade, Kathy (Paul) Carney, Christie (Mike) Suratt, Lisa Collins Hatch (Mike) Hubbard and Janice (Larry) Turner;

And numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She also is preceded in death by three sons-in-law: Louis A Cole, Jerry Bruce Collins and Rufus Dunlap Jr.; four sisters: Lydia Harrison, Mary Boyd, Christine Wilson and Ruby Lewis;

Five brothers: Lee, Jim, Billy, Clarence and Charlie Merrill; and two grandchildren: Jerry Ward Collins and Timothy Dunlap.
