Mildred Lurinda Bates was b 30 Dec 1864 at Columbia, 0. She received training as a nurse. It is not known where. She worked in Lenawee Co., MI, Ann Arbor and at Harper Hospital in Detroit. She m H. L. Cunningham at Hudson, MI in Oct 1885 (divorced, no issue). Some time after 1900 she returned to Columbia, purchased a small home and practiced nursing. The family is indebted to her for her work in compiling the Bates Family record. She did it all by correspondence and visiting with relatives. She d 5 Jul 1959 in Montpelier at the home of her niece, Gayle Drake Facette. She is buried with her mother at Columbia
