She was the daughter of Colonel Christopher Avery and Prudence Payson. She married William Morgan July 4, 1744 in Groton. She was a Revolutionary War Patriot, rendering aid to the troops by supplying stockings knit from her own hands and also "Rifel frocks."

His Daughter, Temperance, and her husband William Morgan were buried in the same lot.
