Mary Lucinda Hedges
Oct. 28, 1926–March 8, 2006 Mary Lucinda HEDGES, 79, of 820 W. 13th St., Rochester, passed away at
9:15 a.m. Wednesday at Life Care Center of Rochester.
She was born on Oct. 28, 1926, in Twelve Mile as the daughter of Howard K. and Thurza (Champ) Hinkle. On April 21, 1946, at the Bethlehem Methodist Church in Twelve Mile, she married Leo Gilbert Hedges. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2005.
Mrs. Hedges had worked at Switches in Leiters Ford and had been a homemaker. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Rebekah's Lodge of Rochester.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda K. Waltz, Rochester; son, Larry Allan Hedges, Smith, Ala.; grandchildren, Lois Langdon, Muncie, Lucinda Ann Boroff, Monterey, Louis L. Boroff, East Lansing, Mich., Cary Shon and wife Julie Hedges, Columbus, Ga., April Cheron and husband Keith Willingham, Frisco, Texas; stepgrandchildren, Kierston Willingham, Frisco, Texas, Kerston Willingham, Frisco, Texas; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leon Hinkle and sister, Lena Downhour.
Her funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Rick Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Parkinson's Foundation.
