Mattie Loyce Boutwell, 98, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013, at a local medical center. Mattie was born April 10, 1914 to Iverson Lafet Connally and Mary Emma Lawson Connally in Tuxedo, Texas. She worked as a waitress and was a Baptist. Mattie enjoyed playing Bingo, listening to country music, sewing and making clothes, and loved being with her family and friends. She had a great sense of humor. Everybody loved Mattie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Boutwell; her son, Bobby Boutwell; a grandson, Jonathan Arledge; a granddaughter, Shawnel Cole; a son-in-law, Charles Cole; two sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Frances "Jerri" Cole of Abilene; grandchildren, Bobby Boutwell, Don Cole, Tommy Cole, Lynn Cole, and Frances Arledge; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Community Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 North 2nd Street, Abilene, with Reverend Doug Roysden officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Stamford, Texas, directed by Community Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
