Samuel Cook of Quincy Township was found dead in his mill on Sunday morning the 8th inst., in the 51st year of his age.
He had eaten his supper with his family on the evening previous in his usual good health, and about 8 o'clock retired to his mill, to grind, as he said until about 9 o'clock when he would shut down for the night. Mrs. Cook retired to bed early and not waking before 12 o'clock was surprised that her husband had not returned, becoming alarmed she and a girl ventured into the mill and found him dead on the third floor. The Jury of Inquest found Mr. Cook sunk to the floor in a consequence of a paralytic stroke.
Mr. Cook was an honest man and kind neighbor and leaves a widow and five children to deplore his loss.
About the time he was discovered a physician called to apprise the family of the death of Mrs. Catharine Essick and elder sister of Mr. Cook.
