Thomas Prather died at his home near here, Wednesday, May 14. He was one of the pioneers of this county. He had seen nearly four score years, and lived on the farm where he died more than fifty years. He leaves two sons and two daughters and several grand children and great grand children to mourn for him. One of his daughters, Mrs. Jeff Bowers, of Sylvia, Kan., was not present at the funeral. He was interred in the Hanner grave yard west of town. He died as he had lived, a christian, and the noblest work of God, "An honest man."
