DAVENPORT — A private graveside service was held on Monday, May 18, 2009, for Ben F. Pfitzenmaier, 95, of Davenport. Interment was at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Pleasant Valley, Iowa. Mr. Pfitzenmaier died on Thursday, May 14, 2009, at the Iowa Masonic Health Care Center in Bettendorf. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.

Ben Frederick Pfitzenmaier was born on January 18, 1914, in Sherrard, Ill., the son of Elmer and Pearl (Love) Pfitzenmaier. He married Jane Watkins in April 1938 in Scott County, Iowa. She preceded him in death on September 27, 2002. Mr. Pfitzenmaier worked as an electrician for the former L & W Electric Company for many years prior to his retirement in 1980.

He is survived by two daughters, Gail Schroeder, of Bettendorf, and Deborah Grether, of Lansing, Mich.; two grandchildren, Stacey Ryan and Mitch Schroeder; and two great-grandchildren, Isabelle Ryan and Kaitlyn Ryan.
