Services for M. R. (Meb) Givens, 84, of Crosbyton, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 1986 in the Pansy Baptist Church with Rev. Preston Beeks of Odessa and Rev. R. C. Hester officiating.

Burial followed in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Mr. Givens died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, November 27, 1986 in the Crosbyton Hospital following a lengthy illness.

He was born October 5, 1902 in Paris, Texas and married Lena Starrett September 19, 1936 in Crosbyton. He was a former truck driver and a farmer. He was a member of the Pansy Baptist Church. He moved to this area in 1919 from Paris. He had lived in the Pansy Community since 1940.

Survivors included: Wife: Lena Givens of Crosbyton; 3 sons, Dr. Teddy Givens of Floydada, Preston W. Givens of Spur, and Mickey M. Givens of Crosbyton; 7 grandchildren.

Active Pall Bearers were T. W. Stockton, Jr., Jack Thornhill, Kelton Winegar, Kenneth Havens, Noble Hunsucker, Rick Sudduth.

Honorary Pall Bearers were Compton Cornelius, Dewey Whalen, A. R. Marley, Osmer Vaughn, Harold Trull, Ronald Hardin, John Burrow.
