Mrs. Martindall, familiarly known as "Grandma" Martindall, an old resident of Willow Ranch, died at that place last Monday morning at 4 o'clock. Deceased had reached the ripe old age of 77 years just the day before death came to call her to solve the mysteries of the unknown world. "Grandma" Martindall was well and favorably known by a large circle, and those who knew her good heart best will miss her most. She leaves a son, J. S. Gillett, and grandson, C. F. Gillett at Willow Ranch, and a daughter, Mrs. Ray at Santa Cruz, Cal. The funeral occurred at Willow Ranch Tuesday. [Lakeview Examiner, Lakeview, Oregon, 11 May 1899]
