Died, at 12 midnight, April 17th, 1886, at her residence in Lodi, Wis., Mary Bartholomew, widow of the late Marston C. Bartholomew, aged eighty-one years.
The subject of this notice was born near Dover, Delaware, February 20, 1805. When about five years of age her father, Robert Hopkins, moved and settled near Shelbyville, Kentucky, continuing at Shelbyville several years, after which Mr. Hopkins sold his farm and removed to Charlestown, Indiana, freeing all his slaves before leaving the state of Kentucky.
On May 15, 1828, she married Marston C. Bartholomew, and two years thereafter moved and settled at Lexington, Illinois, continuing at Lexington for fifteen years, then removed and settled at Lodi, Wis., Sept. 9, 1845, being a constant resident at Lodi forty-one years.
She experienced religion when about ten years of age and was a devoted christian for seventy one years, passing away, as she had lived so long, in full faith of her Lord and Master.
