Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Wednesday , December 6th, 1978 - Emma May Smith, 83, Early, passed away Monday, Dec. 4, at the Buena Vista County hospital. Her sister, Mrs. Clara Neagle resides in Storm Lake.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City. The Rev. Robert Runte of the United Methodist church in Nemaha will officiate and burial will be in the Early Union cemetery.

Emma was born April 21, 1895 in Herndon, Guthrie County. She married Frank Smith and he preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1970 in Storm Lake.

Survivors include five sons: George of Fedora, S.D.; Alfred of Kansas City, Mo.; Dewane of Nemaha; Donald of Grinnell; and Robert of Weatherby, Mo.; three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Viola) Boettcher of Eugene, Ore.; Mrs. Lucille Richard of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Clifton (Irene) Harris of Kansas City, Mo.; 23 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Clara Neagle of Storm Lake.
