Mr. Arnold Linbergh Bailey, 81, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at Moses Cone Hospital.

Mr. Bailey's funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 4, at Stokesdale United Methodist Church with Rev. Claudia Harrelson, Rev. Steve Joyce and Rev. Kevin Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A native of Rockingham County, Mr. Bailey was born on December 1, 1927, the son of the late Harvey Vance and Nancy Rumley Bailey, Sr. He was a member of Stokesdale United Methodist Church, a proud U.S. Army veteran, a tobacco farmer for many years, owner of Bailey's TV Repair Shop, and was a member of the North Carolina Farm Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Payson Vance Bailey, William Elbree Bailey, and Harvey Vance Bailey, Jr., and a sister, Shirley Inez Marshall.

Surviving are his sister, Ada Vivian Bailey Calvert, of Charlotte; nephews, William Earl Calvert, Jr. (Susan) and Edward Vance Marshall; niece, Terri Bailey Johnson (Commie); great-nieces and nephews Jack Calvert, Mark Calvert, Kelly Marshall, Ryan Marshall, Brandy Barnes, Casey Johnson and Sarah Burnham, and one great- great-niece and nephew.
