Harry Landis Albert, 78, of Richmond and formerly of Dublin, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, in Health South Hospital in Richmond. Born April 15, 1922 in Pulaski, he was the son of the late Gilbert Wise Albert & Mary Farmer Albert. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army, and was a member of the American Legion. He may be remembered as a familiar face with Rainbow Bakery and later retired with 19 years of service for the Radford Army Ammunition Plant. He is survived by his wife, LaVon Ward Albert; one daughter & son-in-law, Jonda & Larry Taylor, Richmond; one brother, the Rev. Basil Albert, Alcoa, TN; two sisters, Elizabeth A. Hall, Chico, CA; Annie Graham, of Alcoa, TN, and formerly of Pulaski; two grandsons, Brian Taylor, Huntington, NY; Adam Taylor, Greensboro, NC; mother-in-law, Marie McFadden Ward, Richmond. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Susan Crye and the Rev. Debbie Vaughan officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. Visiting will be any time after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Dublin Presbyterian Church, PO Box 2027, Dublin, VA 24084, or to the Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad, 1101 Horsepen Rd, Richmond, VA 23229.
