Isaiah Doak married Eleanor Freeman on November 10, 1859. Both the bride and groom were 22 years of age, with the groom residing in Tyler County and the bride in Doddridge County at the time of their marriage. The ceremony was performed by Jacob Yeater in Doddridge County.

Isaiah was a farmer.

He died from Glosso-Labio-Laryngeal Paralysis, also known as Bulbar Paralysis.

With this condition, there is progressive atrophy and paralysis of muscles of the tongue, lips, and larynx, and in consequence there is progressive difficulty with articulation, chewing, swallowing, and with speaking. The disease may progress to affect the more vital functions of the brain, like those concerned in breathing.

Note: It looks like Isaiah's brother, Hamilton, married Eleanor's sister, Martha.
