David sometimes used his middle name of DeWitt. He was the son of Franklin F. and Jennie or Jane Weiser. (One Census says Jane, another says Jennie) Her maiden name is unknown at this time.
David had one brother, Henry K and two sisters, Grace P and Katharine.

The 1900 Census lists the Weiser family living in Juniata, Pennsylvania. (Blair County). Franklin was a blacksmith. His son Henry was working in a butter store. David, along with Grace and Katharine, were too young to work.

In about 1910, David married Helen E. Kreamer. The couple had ten children; three boys and seven girls. Their sons were Kurtz, Donald and B. Franklin. Their daughters were Evelyn, Frances, Charlotte, Helen, Dorothy and Katharine and Ruth Ann.

The 1920 Census lists David and Helen and their children living in Logan Township, in Blair County. David was working as a commercial trader in meat. By 1930, they were living in Altoona, Pennsylvania. David was now working as a salesman of securities.

David passed away in Millheim, Pennsylvania on October 24, 1989.
