She was married to Thomas Oldfield. She was the last surviving grandchild of Judge Samuel Chase of Maryland, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. She was also the last surviving grandchild of Commodore Joshua Barney of Baltimore who served in the Navy during the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812.
