"Roy Arnold Soderstrom was the second child of Charles J. Soderstrom and Ida G. Gustafson. He was born in Shelton, Buffalo County, Nebraska on January 10, 1887. He had three brothers, Ralph Elmer S., Arthur Raymond S. and Ernest Rolland Soderstrom. Roy and Eldena Allen, a schoolteacher were married in Shelton on November 21, 1912 (the Wood River Sunbeam newspaper reports this as being on October 22, 1913?) Eldena was the daughter of Kizer H. Allen and Jodie A. Rager. She was born in Philadelphia, Missouri on March 8, 1892. Eldena had four brothers and three sisters; Edna, Clarence, Chester, Mervin, Edmond, Nelly and Maggie Lee.
Roy died in southern California on April 6, 1971. His occupation was farming and in California he had worked in the oil fields. Roy and Eldena had three children;
Woodrow Allen Soderstom was born in Shelton on November 14, 1914 and died on October 25, 1918 of poisoning in the blood.
Stewart Soderstrom was born April 14, 1916 in Shelton. He married Jenny Louise Morison on July 5, 1943 at Ft Meade, Maryland. They have two children, Karl and Kurt.
Bethene Soderstrom was born on January 30, 1921 in Shelton. She married Raymond J. Halvorsen on November 11, 1940 in Sterling, Colorado. They had five children; John, Karen, Karla, Ken and Jeff. Bethene passed away on July 27, 1966 in southern California, and rests next to her parents."
