Obituary from the Guernsey Times: son of Richard and Margaret Morton Angus, to them were born 11 children, he was next to the youngest and all have preceded him into eternity. He was united in marriage to Eliza Ann Matthews and to this union were born two children, Elizabeth and William. Mrs. Angus passed out of this life in November 1869. Mr. Angus was again united in marriage to Nancy Jane Gibson and to this union one child was born, Mary Maud. He is survived by his three children, Mrs. Elizabeth McConkey of Cambridge, Mr. William Angus of Kimbolton and Mrs. Mary Maud Hosfelt who resides on the home place and cared for her father during his last illness, also eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was a veteran of the Civil War and responded to the call of his country, enlisted in Company. F of the 122 Reg. Ohio Vol and talked of the war with great pride. He was a loving husband and kind father, a true friend, a dependable counselor a good neighbor. He lived a successful life and was a patient sufferer in the end. The children feel the loss of their devoted father and many persons here feel the loss of a true friend. The community mourns the loss of an honored citizen. He had a tender heart that gave him a fondness for children. He was a member in good standing of the Kimbolton United Presbyterian Church.
