Not much is known about the 3rd child of Robert & Annie Sommerville. His obit states only that he died in Martinsburg at age 19. This was just after his family had returned to live in Martinsburg after the Civil War and just prior to their permanent return to Georgetown in D.C. where the most of his family is buried. His death was probably the result of dysentery as reported by both his sister Mary Margaret and his brother Waite. William was named for his grandfather, William Sommerville a soldier of the Revolution, who is also buried at Norbourne Parish Cemetery.
