J. S. Clower's death came as a surprise to his family. Mr. Clower moved to Paducah in 1900. He was the public weigher for several years and enjoyed a large acquaintance in Cottle County and adjoining counties. Mr. Clower was one of the oldest citizens in Cottle County at the time of his death. He was a member of the Methodist Church and of the Masonic Lodge. Services were held in the Clower home in northwest Paducah. Masonic services were rendered at the grave.
Survived by his wife; three daughters - Mrs. W.J. Bolt, Mrs. Ben Strange, Mrs. S.A. Day; four sons - Walter Clower, R.M. Clowder, D.T. Clower, John Clower.
