LONG BRANCH - Mrs. Florence M.S. Cubberley, 94, of 133 Morris Ave; died yesterday in Monmouth Medical Center.
Born in Shrewsbury, she was the daughter of Jacob and Cornelia Smith Shutts. She was the widow of Leon Cubberley and had lived here most of her life.
A member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Mrs. Cubberley had been interested and an organizer of social service and public health nursing work since early this century. She was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Monmouth County Oragnization for Social Services and of the local American Red Cross chapter, as well as a former active officer of the YMCA and Army and Navy Club of Oceanport.
Mrs. Cubberley also was a longtime organizer and worker for state, county and local women's Republican clubs. She was also a former member of the Long Branch Board of Education and was active in the city's Parents - Teachers Association.
A founder and past president of the Family and Children's Service of Monmouth County, she was named the unit's first president emeritus. Mrs. Cubberley was cited at a dinner sponsored by the Board of Freeholders and the Monmouth County Welfare Board in 1958.
