LUTHER FRANKLIN TRUMP

Luther F. Trump of Elgin, died Monday, September 21 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland. He was 75.

Mr. Trump was born on July 27, 1895 in Raleigh County, West Virginia, the son of Joner and Malinda Trump. He came to Oregon with his family when he was two years old and have lived in Wallowa and Union Counties ever since.

He was married to Mary Lee Barton on August 27, 1916 at his father's home.

Mr. Trump was a member of the Lumbermen and Sawmill Workers Local No. 2780.

Survivors include his wife Mary of Elgin; son, Charles of Wallowa; daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Maxine) Chandler, La Grande; Mrs. Laurence (Ruby) Woodcock, Porterville, Calif.; Mrs. Orrin (Gladys) McCoy, Athena, Oregon; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, French, Roseburg, Oreg.; Fred, La Grande; a sister, Celia Fadness, Tacoma, Washington; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 24th at 2 p.m., at Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel with Rev. Wendell Sullivan of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Island City Cemetery.

Luther and Mary Trump had one son: Charles Franklin Trump; and three daughters: Ruby Mae Trump, Gladys R. Trump and Maxine Olive Trump.
