Jesse Perry Baker, 49, died Monday morning in the Pulaski Community Hospital after a long illness. Born Dec. 18, 1940 in Pulaski, he was the son of the late William Baker. He attended Calvary Training School and graduated from Christiansburg Institute, Cambria, VA. He was a veteran serving in the United States Air Force. He was formerly an employee of C&P in Washington, D.C. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Gladys Baker of Pulaski; one brother, William Baker, Jr. of Worthington, OH; one sister, Ladonne Baker Young of Bethesda, MD. Funeral service will be Thursday 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Magazine St, with the Rev. Gary T. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hurst Cemetery, Pulaski. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the church. Penns Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
