Glen Joseph Terry was born March 16, 1918 in Hughes County, east of Holdenville, OK to Emma (Lee) Terry and Claud Clinton Terry. He passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 1996 in Charter Hospital in Hawaii Gardens, CA.

He grew up in the Hulsey area, attending school at hulsey and Moss. In 1942 he entered the Armed services and served three years in the European Theatre. Battle of the Bulge, and the Argonne Forest. He and Dorothy Lorene McEwin were married on September 16, 1942 in the First Baptist parsonage in Holdenville by Rev. Earl Kirk. After his discharge from the military in 1945, he moved his family to Baltimore, Maryland, where he worked for Bethleham Steel for five years. In 1950 they moved to California where he worked for and became a partner in the Kennimon Electrical Supply Company from which he retired in 1985 because of illness.

The family returned to Oklahoma in 1992 where they lived at 118 Moore County Club Drive in Holdenville. Mr. Terry accepted Christ while in the hospital in California. On Christmas day he shared his testimony with his family.

Survivors are his wife, Dorothy, of the home; one daughter, Glenda Lorine Terry of Holdenville; one son, Rickey Earl Terry and his wife, Linda of Carson, CA.; two granddaughters, Trisha Lee (Bates) Dillis and her husband Jeffery Dillis and Melissa (Bates) Martin and her husband, Aron Martin, all of Nevada City, CA.; one grandson, Brian Terry of Carson, CA.; three great-grandchildren, Zackery Dillis, Brandon Dillis and Cody Martin; three sisters, Ruby Kimes and Velma Ward, both of Oklahoma City and Bessie Bates of Heritage Villiage Nursing Home, Holdenville; three brothers, Otis Terry of Shawnee, Raymond Terry and his wife, Jerry of Oklahoma City and Wilson Terry and his wife, Ethel of Holdenville; his former daughter-in -law, Janice Terry of Carson, CA. and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers, Louis Terry and Burl Terry and two sisters, Bertha (Terry) Sanders and Edna (Terry) Shores.

Funeral services will be monday, Jan.8 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Earl Stephenson officiating. Burial with American Legion rites will be in the Holdenville cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
